Bachelor / MasterBlended Intensive Programme "Makers 5.0" (April 2024)

Overview

Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (Faculty of Mechanics) is inviting students to take part in a program dedicated to mastering rapid prototyping techniques. “We invite beginner-level students to dive deeper into the world of 3D modeling, 3D printing, laser cutting, woodworking, metalworking, CNC, and other cool technologies! We offer a two-week-long intensive course (one week fully online, packed with theoretical and practical workshops, teamwork, and other fun) and a fully on-site week here in Vilnius, Lithuania, at the very creative workshops of VILNIUS TECH ‘LinkMenų fabrikas’.

This spring school, we focus on sustainability and the circular economy. How can we implement circularity in new product development? How can we create new things while using recycled materials?”

The program will happen both online and face-to-face, participants need to attend all parts of the program – from April 8th to 12th online, from April 15th to 19th in VilniusTech.

Attending both online and face-to-face parts of the program, students will gain 3 ECTS which is 2 credit points.
Students will be able to participate only if they have confirmed the possibility to acknowledge/transfer BIP programme as C (or other) part study course. (Please confirm this with your academic advisor and programme director. Template in Latvian. Template in English.)

Students can apply for the Erasmus+ scholarship for the face-to-face activity days covering, for example, accommodation and transport expenses. Scholarship for a 5-day face-to-face program will be 545 EUR in total or 109 EUR per day. If the traveling to the host country takes place at least one day prior to the start of the program and returns – the next day after the program at the earliest, there will be travel compensation for these 2 days (up to 218 EUR) after submitting documents confirming traveling dates.

In case of questions regarding the scholarship, contact RTU International Mobility Unit via arturs.cernisevs@rtu.lv.

In case any questions arise about the program, contact organizers via linkmenufabrikas@vilniustech.lt

Please take in account these important rules:

  • Two Erasmus scholarship periods can’t overlap!
  • Students can participate in one BIP program only at the same time!
  • Do not apply for another BIP program if both periods overlap!
  • The full period of the BIP program means the full duration of the program – virtual learning + physical mobility!
  • Students can’t combine the semester mobility and participation in BIP within the same period of time!

All participants must make sure that their participation will not cause issues in the ongoing semester courses at RTU (please confirm this with your lecturers and academic advisors).
