Your Erasmus+ destination will be a combination of your preferences regarding the country and culture you desire to experience closer, your acceptable cost of living, your language skills as well as the existing RTU partnerships and available study subjects for the exchange students at the potential host university.

In order to carry out Erasmus+ mobility if you are not a citizen of the European Union, you will have to closely follow the regulations of the host country. The immigration rules differ in each country, so find out which ones apply in your case and if needed, apply for the required immigration document well in advance while you still have not entered the host country for the Erasmus+ mobility. Do not leave this task until the final moment.

RTU full-time foreign students who are going for Erasmus+ mobility, need to contact the embassy of the host country to find out what immigration formalities need to be completed and what documents need to be obtained before the mobility.

It is highly advisable to do the research and plan how and where to find it before you leave Latvia even if not booking the accommodation before mobility.
